Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents ask before enrolling.
What age is this course for?
Kids aged 9 to 14. No prior coding experience is needed.
Does my child need a laptop?
Yes, for the best experience. A laptop, desktop, or Chromebook is needed to build apps. A phone or tablet can be used for testing.
My child only has a phone. Can they still join?
Yes, but with limitations. Phones are great for testing apps, but building apps on a phone screen is difficult. We'll pair phone-only students with laptop users for collaborative building.
Do we need to install anything?
No software installation needed on the computer. Everything runs in a browser. On the phone, students install the free MIT AI2 Companion app.
How long is the course?
6 weeks. About 2 hours of learning per week, plus time for practice and building.
How much does it cost?
Early enrollment is KSh 6,000 (was KSh 8,000). This price is available until October 30. After that, the regular price is KSh 8,000.
How do I pay?
Payment is via M-Pesa. Fill the enrollment form, and you'll receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your M-Pesa PIN and you're done.
What if my child misses a lesson?
All lesson materials are available on the course hub, so students can catch up at their own pace.
Is there a certificate?
Yes. Students who complete the course and present a final project receive a certificate of completion.
